Safona is a 3rd generation baker. She started her professional bakery in 2020, under the name Hersheykiss’d Cakes. She discovered her love for cooking and baking from watching her maternal (Magnolia Price) and paternal (Eddie Theressa Swayzer) grandmothers cook and bake. She has always had a love of baking and cooking and sharing those treats with family and friends. There was a running inside joke that people joined her committees in an organization to come and eat. She enjoys trying out new recipes and altering them to make them her very own. She was inspired by family and friends, especially Her Muse, to share those blessed talents handed down from her ancestors to her with you.

 

In February 2024, the business was rebranded as Mag’s Legacy Cakes and More (previously Hersheykiss'd Cakes) to pay homage to her ancestors. Mag’s Legacy is truly a labor of love and she is humbled to share it with you. Mag’s Legacy uses real butter, cream, natural flavorings, and whenever possible fresh local ingredients (as a way to give back to her Hometown Chicago). Her goal is to ensure that you receive only top notch quality products made with a labor of love.
